At this time Bajada came from the City (Mdina) and said that the cavalry had captured a Janizary[1] and two labourers. This Bajada was a Maltese who had been a slave in the hands of the Turks and spoke their language fluently. He was a very good swimmer and did good service for the Order during the Siege.
